JCPenney has become the worst place to shop, and catalog/online ordering is nothing less than a waste of time. Very few items are stocked. We may check out with a notice that all items are available, but then we most often we either receive emails stating that the items are no longer available or they just arbitarily cancel the orders without even telling us. Surprise ... when we check our order status items or orders just say "cancelled." Who knows why. And they have even been known to just delete entire orders from their system so we are unable to access them online to check the status.

JCP is now notorious for poor customer service. The associates no longer sign the emails that they send to customers, and don't expect them to spend much time researching an inquiry or trying to make you happy. It is clear that the associates simply don't care and their position is just a job for them. I will say that my home is full of JCP merchandise, as we have been shopping there for 30 years. However, we very seldom shop there now because the entire ordering process just turns out to be a waste of time. And when they don't offer free shipping and free returns ... well, you are well advised to pass and order elsewhere.

(found your blog looking for info on the Sausser scam) Re the car: The confusing part is why are they parked so close to whoever they're watching. While it's surprising the number of people who feel they have a right to our VDOT easements while we maintain them and who, no doubt, should they have an accident on such a strip would attempt to sue the homeowner, I do think they are not sitting in the neighborhood without purpose. No bumper stickers, that antenna, and can't see if it's devoid of dealer name...there's something but maybe just the model name. And they left after your wife. Did she feel followed where she went that day?

I practiced patience and understanding with Sausser Farms as long as I could, but you can't blame everything on the weather. The weather is not responsible for them showing up late at their locations or not showing up at all. The weather is not responsible for the lies they told their customers about why they were not at their produce stands. The Saussers are responsibe for collecting the membership fees of thousands of people, then not delivering what was promised. They too are responsible for telling the local news that they would give refunds to dissatisfied customers and then not even holding true to that. Come on...they aren't in the farming business, thet are in the business of ripping people off!

The Christiansburg location is completely shut down. A For Rent sign is back in the window of the storefront. Guess I won't be getting a pumpkin OR that hayride! Despicable people.

I was curious also to see if the Sausser's would reopen as they stated they would 3 weeks ago. The Christiansburg store did not open this week. The long story Paul Sausser wrote as "he sat on his tractor" is still on the window but the letter stating the store would reopen this week is gone. Someone had to come to remove the sign but no other information was posted about a reopening.

I have more questions than answers. If anyone has answers, please post them for all to see. This includes Paul and Samantha Sausser.
1) Why is the Sausser Farms website disabled? (This is the only way to get information about the farm and its progress if any.)
2) How can a business take money from thousands of people and then add a disclaimer after they have received the money?
3) When a product is offer by any business and is not delivered, isn't a consumer entitled to a refund? (Maybe the BBB can answer this one.)
I have a few others but I will see if there is any response first before posting more.

Got ahold of my attorney today. He says the people who bought shares in the co-op can band together and file a class action suit. They do after all own a large farm. This was a scam and yes, the site and numbers are not available to any consumers. Although it is only $35.00 the fact is every penny counts and they basically stole from us. Linda J Miller proudnavma/aol I am also contacting the BBB tomorrow. I was told a month ago to mail them my card for a refund. I never got one. But have proof I purchased one. Not nice to play with ppl's money. Sometimes dangerous things can happen.

I do NOT feel this was a fraud. I do think that this family was really trying, but the weather threw a monkey wrench into their plans. My parents had a produce farm years ago and knowing when produce would be ready was a real crap shoot - they did irrigate, so that helped. But farmers are definitely at the mercy of the weather. NO rain means NO crops!!! I feel for this family. Hopefully next year will be better for them AND for their customers, including me!! I too was looking forward to having the fresh veggies!! I think we all need to practice some patience and understand that THINGS HAPPEN!!!

I went to the website for the farm online tonight and it has been disabled. Wonder if they are shutting down everything. Sure would like to get my $70 for the two shares I purchased back. I have been successful in getting vegetables 1 time this season. Lines are too long in the hot sun and they don't show up when they say they will. Wonder what we would find if we drove to the farm? I don't even have email contact for them at this point as it was on the website! I understand not producing what you need to sell, but buck up and give customer money back. The ads on the website surely sounded like this was not their first year of operation - and it was. At one point they emailed those of us who had already purchased a share and asked us to sign on friends as they were well short of their goal of 75,000 shares.

They were down on the market today. I hoarded all I could get (the okra looked good, so did the japalenos). Otherwise, I have a feeling they will be disappearing during that three weeks. I contacted the BBB and asked for my $ back.

Yeah I noticed the website is down too - but I wonder if it corresponds with what Roanoke Times said about a court hearing in Lynchburg today. Steve- you should see what you can track down!

Their website is down now. I guess this is then end. Lesson learned, right? Not sure if you are based in Roanoke or further out but I get alot of bulk produce at Crow's Nest Greenhouse in Bburg...fair priced and organic, grown on site.

I have reported Sausser Farms to the BBB. They have 14 days to respond to me. It's obvious folks....this was a big scam. It's not that I can't afford to loose $35, it's more that I told EVERYONE I know about it. My friends are all upset with me. Ohhhh, lesson learned!

If it sounds to good to be true...(repeat after me)....IT IS!!!!

Please go ahead and report them to the BBB.

Good luck with that refund. I sent my 2 cards in over a month ago - no refund yet. Sent 2 emails, both of which received automated responses stating that my emails probably wouldn't be read. Phone - disconnected. Now, website down.
